Me with my first published story, THE TOASTED BAGELS OF MELTED BUTTER LAKE

Hi, thanks for stopping by! I am a children’s book writer who loves to share all kinds of stories. One of my favorite things to do is read on my front porch swing, no matter the weather.

When I was in fifth grade, my school ran a program where students could have their stories published, complete with wallpaper remnant covers. Through this, my first three picture books were born.  Around the same time, I broke my leg and received a blank journal from my parents as a get-well gift.  In it, I wrote my first novel, THE TOMATO FAMILY, which was not-so-loosely based on the works of Lois Lenski, who was my favorite author growing up.

These days, I’m drawing on all my past experiences and working hard to create memorable stories that will both educate and entertain future readers. I hope you’ll be one of them!

I am a member of the Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and encourage anyone who is interested in writing for children to check them out.
