About Nancy Tandon
Hi! Thanks for stopping by! I write picture books and middle grade novels, and love to share all kinds of stories for young people with others. I live in New England with my husband and two children, and am a member of the Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). I have worked as an elementary school teacher, a speech-language pathologist, and an adjunct professor of Phonetics and Child Language Development. So far, writing is my favorite!
When I was in fifth grade, my school ran a program where students could have their stories published, complete with wallpaper remnant covers. Through this, my first three picture books were born. Around the same time, I broke my leg and received a blank journal from my parents as a get-well gift. In it, I wrote my first novel, THE TOMATO FAMILY, which was not-so-loosely based on the works of Lois Lenski, who was and is my favorite author.
These days, I’m drawing on all my past experiences and working hard to create memorable stories that will both educate and entertain future readers. I hope you’ll be one of them!
Love the new blog design–gorgeous!

Thanks, Paula. Glad you found me again!
Poking around your blog this morning… I still have my wallpaper books from Amerman too! One book had a very dramatic plot involving a stabbing. 🙂
Proud of all you are doing!!!
My kids are in college and a senior in high school, but I just stumbled upon your site and I just want to say how much I appreciate you writing books about Tourette syndrome. I wish I knew about these books years ago. So thank you!!!
Definitely a new look! Glad you are finding a way to combine all the good thingies!!!
