The New Voices in Children’s Literature: Tassy Walden Awards competition “encourages and nurtures the creation of exceptional quality books for children by unpublished Connecticut writers and illustrators” and is hosted by the Shoreline Arts Alliance.
2013 – Ruth Landers Glass Scholarship (NE SCBWI) – winner for my middle-grade novel SAY MY NAME
Ruth Landers Glass was an active member in NESCBWI who nurtured aspiring writers. She was an artist, writer and founding member of two Newton, Massachusetts, critique groups which helped many writers move toward publication. The scholarship provides writers with an opportunity to attend the NESCBWI conference.
Coming soon: SAY MY NAME, the story of two speech therapy ‘rejects’ who turn to heavy metal music and Muhammad Ali as they work to repair their broken friendship.
